Ghana claimed an important 1-0 win over Panama in their opening Group L match, earning three valuable points in a closely contested encounter.
The decisive goal came during a disciplined performance from Ghana, who combined solid defending with timely attacking play to keep Panama at bay. Despite creating several opportunities, Panama were unable to find an equaliser against a well-organised Ghanaian side.
Panama pushed forward in search of a late breakthrough and enjoyed spells of possession, but Ghana’s defence stood firm to preserve their narrow advantage until the final whistle.
The victory gives Ghana an early boost in Group L, while Panama will look to bounce back in their next fixture as the battle for qualification intensifies.
