Pakistan suffer ninth straight defeat as Spain secure their first win of the campaign.

Pakistan’s struggles in the FIH Pro League continued with a heavy 5-1 defeat against Spain at the Belfius Hockey Arena on Sunday.
Spain took control early when Alvarez Nicolas opened the scoring in the 11th minute. Cunill Pepe then struck twice in the second quarter to give Spain a commanding 3-0 lead at halftime.
Pakistan responded in the third quarter through Abu Mahmood, who scored in the 43rd minute to reduce the deficit to 3-1.
Despite earning several penalty corners, Pakistan failed to convert their chances and could not build momentum.
Spain finished strongly in the final quarter, with Reyne Merc and Alvarez Nicolas adding two more goals to complete a dominant 5-1 victory.
The win was Spain’s first of the season, lifting them to seventh place with five points.
Pakistan remain at the bottom of the standings with zero points after nine consecutive defeats and a goal difference of minus 30.
The Green Shirts will next face Belgium at the same venue on June 19.
