Hundreds remain stranded in submerged villages while authorities warn that heavy rain could trigger urban flooding and flash floods across Punjab.

Ferozewala tehsil remains under severe flood conditions after seasonal streams overflowed and submerged dozens of villages. Hundreds of families have been stranded, and at least three children have died in flood-related incidents.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast widespread rain and thunderstorms across Punjab from July 29 to August 5. Heavy rainfall is expected in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Rawalpindi and several other districts.
The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has placed all district administrations on high alert. Officials have warned of possible urban flooding in major cities, flash floods in local nullahs and landslides in Murree and Galliyat.
Flooding worsened after an embankment along the seasonal Bhir Nullah was breached. Pathan Colony, Rachna Town, Rana Town, Kot Abdul Malik and nearby areas remain under several feet of water, while electricity has been suspended in some localities for days.
Rescue 1122 and welfare organizations are evacuating stranded residents and distributing food, drinking water and other essential supplies. Residents, however, say they received little warning and fear that the expected fresh monsoon rains could make the situation much worse.
