Tom Holland has opened up about the possibility of moving on from Spider-Man, revealing that he has already thought about who could one day take over the role.
In a recent interview, Holland said he would like to see a younger actor step into the Spider-Man suit when his time as Peter Parker eventually comes to an end. He reportedly mentioned Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard as someone he thinks would make a strong choice for a future version of the character.
The actor stressed that he is not officially leaving the franchise right now, but acknowledged that he has been thinking seriously about the future of the character and his own career beyond Marvel. Holland said Spider-Man has been a huge part of his life and that he feels protective of the role.
Holland first appeared as Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War in 2016 and has since starred in three standalone Spider-Man films, including the hugely successful Spider-Man: No Way Home. He is also expected to return in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is currently in development.
His comments have sparked fresh speculation among Marvel fans about what the long-term future of Spider-Man could look like once Holland eventually decides to step away from the franchise.
