Pakistani actor Meera criticised an interviewer for what she described as disrespectful behaviour after he referred to her as “the country’s biggest psycho” during a promotional interview for her new film Psycho.
The interviewer introduced Meera with the remark that she had been a “psycho” before and during the making of the film. Responding calmly, the actor asked him to show respect and reminded him that professional interactions should remain courteous. “If you do not give me respect, I can go get it in India,” she said, while also noting that she expected to be treated with dignity.
Meera added that Psycho was one of the most challenging projects of her career and said she had hoped audiences would appreciate the effort put in by both her and co-star Shaan Shahid. She described the film as a bold project and said the cast deserved recognition for taking on such demanding roles.
The incident quickly gained attention on social media, where many users praised Meera for maintaining her composure. Several fans said the interviewer’s comments were inappropriate and supported her call for greater respect toward artists and performers.
This is not the first time Meera has spoken about being treated unfairly in interviews. The actor has previously said she wants to be known for her work and achievements rather than the controversies that have often surrounded her public image.
