China’s Shenzhou-23 crew has completed 60 days in orbit, marking a significant milestone in the country’s latest long-duration space mission. The astronauts have remained engaged in a packed schedule of scientific experiments and station maintenance activities.
According to Chinese space authorities, the crew carried out studies focused on gut microbiota, nutritional health and motor control, all of which are considered important for understanding how the human body adapts to extended stays in space.
Researchers hope the findings will improve health management for future long-duration missions and support China’s broader ambitions in human space exploration, including more complex orbital operations and eventual deep-space missions.
