Pakistan has rejected what it called India’s “false and politically motivated” allegations regarding damage to a Hindu temple in Narowal, saying the claims misrepresented the facts.

Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said the temple’s structure was damaged on July 21 due to torrential rains and severe weather, not because of any deliberate act.

The spokesperson said Pakistan remains committed to protecting religious sites and ensuring respect for places of worship belonging to all communities.

Islamabad urged India to avoid what it described as misleading narratives, stressing that issues related to religious heritage should not be politicised.
