Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has called on the government to immediately reduce petrol prices to Rs225 per litre, arguing that recent trends in the international oil market warrant a significant price cut for consumers in Pakistan.
He stated that the current fuel prices remain unnecessarily high despite easing global oil rates, and said that minor reductions would not provide meaningful relief to the public already struggling with inflation.
Hafiz Naeem also warned that if the government fails to act on the demand, the party may consider launching nationwide protests to press for lower fuel prices and broader economic relief measures.
