Iran has launched retaliatory strikes against US military positions in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates following a US attack on Iranian missile launchers on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said ballistic missiles targeted the King Hussein and Al-Azraq bases in Jordan.
Iranian forces also claimed to have targeted the UAE’s Al Minhad Air Base with drones, saying US personnel and military helicopters were stationed there. Jordanian authorities said eight missiles were intercepted, while the extent of damage from the attacks remains unclear.
The exchange marks a sharp escalation in the confrontation between Washington and Tehran, with the latest strikes raising fresh concerns over regional security and the safety of military and commercial activity around the Strait of Hormuz.
