The Board of Governors of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) has approved a budget of Rs2.134 billion for the financial year 2026-27 during a meeting chaired by Board Chairperson Farkhanda Wasim Afzal.

According to details, UHS Vice Chancellor Professor Ahsan Waheed Rathore presented a report on the university’s ongoing development projects and future financial planning during the meeting.
Officials informed the board that the university’s estimated income for the upcoming fiscal year has been projected at Rs4.40 billion. The approved budget includes Rs500 million allocated for examinations and Rs920 million reserved for salaries and allowances of faculty members and staff.
The university has also allocated Rs342 million for operational expenses and Rs96.8 million for research-related activities. More than Rs133 million has been set aside for the Annual Development Programme.
To support students and improve academic facilities, Rs21 million has been allocated for scholarships, while Rs31.5 million has been earmarked for computer equipment and IT initiatives. Another Rs20 million will be spent on research chemicals and laboratory materials.
The Board further approved Rs45 million for the purchase of an additional student bus and allocated Rs11 million for the construction of a mosque at the university’s Jinnah Campus. An amount of Rs126.5 million has also been reserved for repair and maintenance work.
During the meeting, the Board approved fresh appointments against 22 faculty positions on the recommendations of the Selection Board. Promotions for tenure-track faculty members and extensions in contracts of 62 university employees and teachers were also approved.
