According to reports, stray dogs mauled a group of sacrificial animals in the KDA Officers Housing Society near the National Stadium, killing four goats and one sheep, while two other animals were injured.
Television channel City21 also obtained CCTV footage showing the incident.
The animals, which had been bought for Eidul Adha sacrifice, were tied to trees outside a bungalow when a pack of stray dogs suddenly attacked them. The dogs reportedly tore the animals apart, causing panic in the area.
Residents said no one was able to intervene during the attack to save the animals.
The incident has alarmed both the owners of the sacrificial animals and local residents, who are now demanding immediate action from the authorities to control the growing stray dog population in the neighbourhood.
