A resolution has been submitted in the Sindh Assembly calling for an immediate end to power outages in Karachi amid the ongoing heatwave. The motion, moved by MQM-P lawmaker Maaz Mehboob, highlights both announced and unannounced load shedding, saying residents are facing severe hardship during extreme temperatures.

The resolution states that Karachi citizens, including those in PS-127, are experiencing prolonged electricity cuts despite earlier assurances that load shedding would not be carried out during heatwave conditions. It also alleges that K-Electric failed to comply with directives issued by a special assembly committee.

The MQM-P has demanded that no load shedding be carried out during future heatwaves and called for legal action in cases where deaths occur due to heat-related complications worsened by power outages. The resolution also seeks complete disclosure from K-Electric regarding load shedding schedules and records across the city.
