Eleven people were injured after a speeding car ran over pedestrians in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area, according to police officials.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) South confirmed that the driver, along with two other individuals, was taken into custody shortly after the incident. The circumstances leading to the crash are still under investigation.
Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle was moving at high speed before it struck multiple pedestrians, causing panic in the area. Emergency services arrived quickly at the scene and transported the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Authorities have not yet released details on the condition of the victims, but some are reported to have sustained serious injuries.
Police say they are examining whether negligence, reckless driving, or other factors contributed to the incident, and further updates are expected as the investigation continues.
