The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a nationwide alert following forecasts of intense heavy rainfall that could trigger multiple hazards across vulnerable areas.
According to the agency, the expected weather conditions may lead to flash floods in low-lying regions, landslides in hilly and mountainous terrain, and potential Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs) in glaciated zones.
Authorities have urged local administrations and residents in at-risk areas to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary travel, and follow official advisories. Emergency response teams have been placed on standby to respond to any developing situations.
The NDMA emphasized the importance of preparedness measures, including clearing drainage systems, securing loose structures, and monitoring weather updates regularly as conditions evolve.
