Six candidates competing to become the next leader of the United Nations are set to take part in a televised debate.
The event will give the candidates an opportunity to present their priorities and vision for the future of the organisation.
Following the selection process, the name of the chosen candidate will be submitted to the UN General Assembly.
The General Assembly will then formally appoint the new UN leader.
The race comes as member states consider the future direction of the world’s leading international organisation.
