Mianwali, Layyah and Bahawalnagar will host MDCAT examination centres for the first time this year. The move is expected to benefit students from remote areas by reducing travel distances and related expenses.

The government has directed the University of Health Sciences (UHS) to complete the necessary arrangements for establishing the new examination centres before the test date.

With the addition of the three new cities, MDCAT will now be conducted in 15 cities across Punjab, compared to 12 last year. The total number of examination centres will also increase from 26 to 32.

Officials said the expansion is aimed at facilitating aspiring medical and dental students and ensuring a smoother admission process. The MDCAT for the current academic year is scheduled to be held on August 16, with thousands of candidates expected to participate.
