The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) slipped into negative territory on Tuesday as cautious investor sentiment weighed on trading activity throughout the session.
The benchmark KSE-100 Index shed nearly 280 points, reversing earlier gains as participants remained hesitant to take fresh positions amid uncertainty over near-term market direction.
Analysts said the decline reflected profit-taking in select heavyweight stocks, low trading volumes and a generally defensive mood among investors despite recent policy and economic developments.
Market participants are also closely watching upcoming economic indicators, corporate earnings and government policy decisions, which are expected to influence sentiment in the coming sessions. Despite the pullback, analysts noted that the overall market remains sensitive to changes in macroeconomic expectations and external financial conditions.
