The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) traded in a volatile session on Monday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index slipping into negative territory during midday trading.

The index fell around 314 points to 179,257, after briefly gaining more than 400 points at the opening before reversing direction amid selling pressure.

Market sentiment remained cautious due to uncertainty over the US-Iran ceasefire and rising global oil prices, which added to investor concerns about inflation and external pressures.

Trading activity showed mixed trends across sectors, with buying in cement and banking stocks offset by weakness in major heavyweights.

Investors continued to monitor developments in the Middle East as tensions around energy routes and the Strait of Hormuz kept global markets unsettled.
