Ali Pervaiz Malik, Minister for Petroleum, has indicated that petrol prices in Pakistan may come down in the upcoming review as international oil prices show a declining trend.

He said easing global tensions, including progress towards a ceasefire understanding between the United States and Iran, has helped push oil prices lower in international markets, creating space for potential relief for consumers.

The minister added that the government has been instructed to ensure any benefit from falling global prices is passed directly to the public.

He also said a transparent pricing mechanism is being developed, with a high-level committee tasked to review petroleum product rates on a weekly basis.

According to the minister, the government is working on a more structured fuel pricing formula in consultation with stakeholders to ensure stability and transparency in the energy sector.

Despite regional uncertainty, he said fuel supply across Pakistan remains stable and uninterrupted.
