Oil prices surged to their highest level in a month as the United States and Iran intensified attacks around the Strait of Hormuz. Growing security concerns fueled fears of disruptions to global energy supplies.

Brent crude futures rose $1.50, or 1.8%, to $84.80 per barrel. Investors reacted to heightened tensions in one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes.

Markets remained on edge as renewed military action threatened regional stability and global trade. Analysts warned that further escalation could keep oil prices elevated in the coming days.
