The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has warned of heavy rainfall and possible flooding across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir as another wet spell is expected to affect northern Pakistan.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Gilgit, Diamer, Hunza, Astore, Skardu and Shigar are among the areas facing the risk of sudden flooding, with intense rainfall likely to trigger flash floods in vulnerable locations.

Authorities have also cautioned that heavy rain could lead to overflowing streams, landslides and travel disruptions in mountainous regions.

The NDMA has urged residents, tourists and local administrations to remain alert, avoid unnecessary travel in high-risk areas and closely follow weather advisories as the rain spell continues.
