Pakistani actor Mahira Khan has praised King Charles III for supporting mental health initiatives in Pakistan through the British Asian Trust.

Speaking at the charity’s annual dinner in London, Mahira said mental health remains a sensitive topic in Pakistan, with many people still reluctant to seek professional help. She stressed the importance of raising awareness and treating mental health conditions like any other illness.

As a mental health ambassador for the British Asian Trust, Mahira commended the organisation’s work in partnership with Geo TV and Jang Group to promote mental health education and support services.

She also welcomed King Charles’ continued involvement with the charity, saying his support helps bring greater attention to important social issues across South Asia.

Addressing wider concerns, Mahira called for stronger action against harassment and violence towards women, urging more men to speak out and take a stand against abuse.

The event brought together prominent figures from the British Asian community and raised more than £1 million to support the British Asian Trust’s programmes in education, mental health, child protection and livelihoods.
