Karachi is likely to receive light rain and dust storms as a new weather system moves across Pakistan.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) says a westerly wave and moisture from the Arabian Sea will trigger rain, thunderstorms and strong winds in many regions.

Cities in Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to receive showers, with some areas likely to see heavy rain and hailstorms.

The PMD has warned that strong winds and lightning could damage weak structures, solar panels and power poles.

Authorities have also cautioned about possible urban flooding in major cities and landslides in vulnerable mountainous areas.

Tourists and travelers have been advised to avoid unnecessary journeys and stay updated on weather conditions.
