Iran has warned that any attack against the country would trigger a “powerful” response.

The warning came after US President Donald Trump threatened Tehran amid rising tensions between the two countries.

Iranian officials said that if Tehran is unable to sell its oil, other countries should not expect to continue their own oil exports.

They also threatened to target energy infrastructure across the region if Iran comes under attack.

The latest statements have raised fears of further escalation and potential disruption to global energy supplies.

The threats come as tensions continue to grow over Iran’s nuclear programme, regional security and oil exports.
