Iran says it has executed a man convicted of spying for Israel and the United States, according to the judiciary-linked Mizan Online website.

The individual, identified as Erfan Shakourzadeh, was accused of collaborating with both the CIA and Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency and passing classified information to them.
Mizan reported that he worked at a scientific organisation involved in satellite-related activities and had “knowingly and willingly” shared sensitive data with foreign intelligence services.
The report did not specify when he was arrested or when the execution took place.
Iranian authorities have long accused Western countries of attempting to infiltrate its strategic and scientific sectors, including its satellite programme, which is also viewed abroad as having potential links to ballistic missile development.
The execution comes amid a wider wave of capital punishments in Iran during ongoing regional tensions, including the conflict with Israel and the United States, where a ceasefire has been in place since early April.
Human rights organisations, including Norway-based Iran Human Rights, have previously stated that Iran is among the world’s top executioners, reporting over 1,500 executions last year.
Tehran has also recently carried out executions linked to espionage and anti-government unrest cases, reflecting an intensification of internal security actions during the conflict period.
