The government has officially notified a 7% increase in pensions for retired civil servants and armed forces personnel, with effect from July 1, 2026.
According to the notification, the increase will be applied to the existing net pension of eligible pensioners. The adjustment covers federal government retirees as well as retired members of the armed forces.
Officials said the pension hike is part of the government’s budgetary measures for the 2026-27 fiscal year and is intended to provide some relief to pensioners facing rising living costs and inflationary pressures.
The increase will be paid from July 1, 2026, and the revised amount will be included in monthly pension payments after the notification’s implementation by the relevant departments, banks and pension disbursing authorities.
Pensioners are expected to receive the enhanced payments once the administrative process is completed and the revised pension calculations are issued by the concerned authorities.
