The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has issued an apology to Pakistan national field hockey team after a broadcast error during their match against India national field hockey team in the Pro League.

During the coverage, Pakistan’s flag was incorrectly displayed without the white vertical stripe, which represents the country’s religious minorities. The mistake sparked concern and criticism, with calls for correction due to the symbolic significance of the omission.

FIH later acknowledged the error and apologised, attributing it to a technical issue in the broadcast graphics. The governing body said it had taken steps to ensure the mistake would not be repeated in future broadcasts.

The incident occurred during a high-profile fixture in the Hockey Pro League, which regularly features top international sides competing across the season
