Pakistan Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is set to visit Tehran as part of Islamabad’s efforts to promote peace and reduce tensions in the region.

Iranian officials said Munir’s visit will coincide with a planned US announcement on Monday regarding details of new sanctions targeting Iran.

The visit comes at a sensitive time as tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to rise, with the United States threatening tougher economic measures against Iran and urging countries to limit their ties with the country.

Pakistan has repeatedly stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving regional disputes. Munir’s visit is expected to focus on strengthening communication and supporting efforts to prevent further escalation.
