Police investigate theft of training gear as England arrive at their World Cup base ahead of opener against Croatia.

England’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup have been disrupted after training equipment was reportedly stolen in Kansas City.
According to reports, vehicles transporting equipment to the team’s training base at Swope Soccer Village were broken into before the squad’s arrival. Stolen items are believed to include footballs and boots.
The The Football Association confirmed an incident had occurred but said further details could not be provided as the matter is under police investigation.
The Kansas City Police Department said officers are investigating a possible theft from a team vehicle and that the inquiry remains ongoing.
Reports indicate that two people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
England, managed by Thomas Tuchel, arrived in Kansas City after completing their pre-tournament preparations in Florida. The team is scheduled to hold its first training session on Saturday evening.
England begin their World Cup campaign against Croatia on Wednesday before facing Ghana and Panama in Group L.
While officials hope the issue will be resolved quickly, the theft could create an unwanted distraction ahead of England’s opening match.
