Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has expressed grief over the deaths of climbers affected by the Broad Peak avalanche, while assuring that rescue and recovery efforts will continue.
Dar paid tribute to the mountaineers and said the government is working closely with relevant authorities and coordinating with the embassies of China, Nepal, Oman, the United Kingdom and the United States.
He said all possible assistance would be provided to support ongoing search operations and address the needs of the affected families.
The avalanche struck during a mountaineering expedition on Broad Peak, leaving several climbers missing and triggering a large-scale rescue operation in the difficult mountainous terrain.
Authorities and rescue teams continue efforts to locate remaining missing climbers despite challenging weather and dangerous conditions at high altitude.
