The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert warning of heavy rain, strong winds, and possible flood-like conditions in northern and upper Pakistan from June 16 to 20.
A westerly weather system is expected to bring thunderstorms, gusty winds, scattered rainfall, and hail in some areas during this period.
Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Balochistan, and parts of Sindh are likely to experience widespread rain and storm activity.
NDMA warned that rising temperatures combined with rainfall between June 16 and 19 may trigger flood-like situations, especially in mountainous regions.
The authority also cautioned that rapidly melting glaciers and possible glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs) could cause dangerous water surges in streams and rivers.
Areas such as Hassanabad, Shishper, Gulkin, Passu, Ghizer, Skardu, and Shigar have been identified as particularly at risk.
NDMA has advised relevant departments to stay on high alert and urged tourists and residents to monitor weather and road conditions before travelling.
