Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti has said that Islamabad was saved from a major terror attack after security forces arrested a would-be female suicide bomber.

Addressing the media, the minister stated that timely action by law enforcement agencies foiled a planned attack targeting the federal capital.
He added that the suspect was apprehended during an intelligence-based operation, preventing what he described as a serious security threat.
Bugti praised the efforts of security agencies, saying their vigilance helped avert a potential tragedy in Islamabad.
Further investigations are underway to determine the network behind the alleged plot and any possible accomplices.
