Heavy rains trigger deadly landslide in Conakry as rescuers race to find survivors trapped beneath debris.

At least 30 people have been killed after a landfill collapsed onto nearby homes in Guinea’s capital, Conakry, following days of heavy rain.
The collapse sent tonnes of debris into surrounding residential areas, burying homes and trapping residents beneath the rubble. Emergency crews rushed to the site as excavators worked to clear the debris and search for possible survivors.
Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah visited the affected area as rescue operations continued, with authorities assessing the extent of the destruction.
Heavy rainfall has increased the risk of landslides and flooding in parts of Guinea, while officials have urged residents in vulnerable areas to remain alert as rescue and recovery efforts continue.
