US President Donald Trump has said he is considering “massive” strikes on Iran, escalating tensions as Washington links Tehran to Houthi attacks on commercial shipping. He warned that Iran would be held responsible for any future assaults by the Yemen-based group.

Trump said the United States would hold Tehran accountable if the Houthis target cargo vessels or disrupt maritime traffic. His remarks come amid growing concerns over the security of key international shipping routes.

Iran responded by warning US troops against carrying out what it described as any “manifestly unlawful” military action. Iranian officials cautioned that any attack would have serious consequences and further destabilize the region.

The sharp exchange has heightened fears of a broader regional confrontation, with both sides trading warnings as tensions over maritime security, regional stability and military activity continue to intensify.
