US President Donald Trump drew attention at the G7 summit in France after declaring “I’m the boss” as he entered a morning session already underway with world leaders seated.

The remark, made in a light-hearted atmosphere, prompted laughter from delegates, including French President Emmanuel Macron, who is chairing the summit as host.

Macron greeted Trump with a brief exchange before the US president took his seat, continuing his high-profile presence at the three-day gathering in Evian on Lake Geneva.

Trump’s participation has been a central focus of the summit, particularly following recent diplomatic developments and his continued influence in international negotiations.

Despite previous tensions at earlier summits, French officials noted his full attendance this year as a positive sign for G7 unity, with leaders also signing a joint communique.

Macron later invited Trump to dinner at the Palace of Versailles, an unusual diplomatic gesture reflecting the summit’s informal tone, though French officials clarified it would not be a formal gala event.
