Japan’s Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi has praised Pakistan’s role in supporting diplomatic efforts that helped reach a recent understanding between the United States and Iran.

The appreciation was conveyed during a phone call with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, according to Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry.

Both sides welcomed the reported US-Iran understanding and called it important for regional and global stability.

Japan also acknowledged Pakistan’s “constructive and sustained mediatory role” throughout the process.

The two foreign ministers reaffirmed the need for continued diplomatic engagement and regular communication to strengthen bilateral ties.

They agreed that ongoing dialogue remains essential for addressing international tensions.

The statement comes amid broader regional diplomatic activity involving the US and Iran, with reports of a draft framework and continued negotiations, though full details of any agreement have not been officially confirmed.
