Pakistan’s textile industry has warned that an indefinite goods transport strike could seriously affect exports, raising concerns over supply chain disruptions and delayed international shipments.
The All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) has urged the government to intervene immediately to resolve the dispute with transporters and prevent further disruption to the country’s largest export-oriented sector.
Industry representatives said the strike is affecting the movement of raw materials, yarn, fabric and finished garments, creating bottlenecks in production and delivery schedules.
APTMA cautioned that prolonged disruptions could lead to missed export deadlines, higher logistics costs and loss of business confidence among international buyers, particularly at a time when Pakistan is trying to strengthen its export performance.
The association called for urgent dialogue between the government, transporters and industry stakeholders to restore normal freight operations and protect the country’s textile export momentum.
