Saudi Arabia has backed FIFA president Gianni Infantino amid growing fallout over a failed investment plan that has sparked tensions within the football governing body.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) welcomed FIFA’s acknowledgement of mistakes and urged football stakeholders to engage in direct dialogue to restore unity.

SAFF said constructive discussions among football leaders were essential to resolve differences and ensure the sport’s governing structures remain united.

The dispute comes as FIFA faces scrutiny over its investment plans and relations with several influential football associations, adding pressure on the organisation to address concerns and rebuild trust.
