The West Indies secured a commanding innings and 217-run victory over Sri Lanka in the first Test at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
Fast bowler Kemar Roach starred, reaching the milestone of 300 Test wickets as he led a ruthless bowling attack. Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 101 in their second innings, unable to recover from a heavy first-innings deficit.
Roach, recalled to the side amid an injury crisis, took four wickets in the second innings and became only the fifth West Indian to reach the 300-wicket landmark in Test cricket.
Sri Lanka were outplayed throughout the match, trailing by 318 runs on first innings before collapsing after lunch on day four.
The win gives the West Indies a strong start to the two-Test series, with the second match set to begin at the same venue later this week.
