Prime minister praises MQM’s role in coalition as talks focus on Budget 2026–27 and economic stability.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met a delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in Islamabad on Friday to discuss the upcoming Federal Budget 2026–27 and the country’s overall political and economic situation.
The MQM delegation was led by convener and Federal Education Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and included Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal, Farooq Sattar, Aminul Haque, and MNA R. Javed Hanif. Several senior federal ministers also attended the meeting.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, discussions focused on the federal budget, which is set to be presented in parliament later today. The government acknowledged MQM as an important coalition partner and appreciated its role in promoting economic stability and public welfare.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said cooperation between the government and MQM would continue in the national interest and for the benefit of the people.
The meeting comes ahead of the presentation of the proposed Rs17.5 trillion Budget 2026–27, which aims to balance fiscal reforms, IMF commitments, and relief measures for citizens.
