DOHA: A report by Al Jazeera has claimed that India’s long-running efforts to diplomatically isolate Pakistan have largely failed. The report says Pakistan has instead expanded its global influence and maintained strong international partnerships.

According to the report, since Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the policy in 2016, Pakistan has preserved active relations with major powers, including the United States, China, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. This has helped Pakistan remain an important regional player.

The report also noted that during the 2025 Pakistan-India tensions, Pakistan gained an advantage in the international narrative. It said the global community did not accept India’s allegations regarding the Pahalgam incident without evidence.

Al Jazeera highlighted Pakistan’s close strategic partnership with China, describing it as a key factor reshaping regional dynamics. It also pointed to improving relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh after the departure of Sheikh Hasina from power.

The report further stated that Pakistan is emerging as a valuable security partner for Gulf countries. At the same time, it argued that some of Modi’s domestic policies have negatively affected India’s international image.

Pakistan has also attracted attention from Washington through its mineral resources, investment opportunities, and diplomatic outreach. The report added that US President Donald Trump claimed credit for facilitating more than 30 Pakistan-India ceasefires, a claim repeatedly rejected by India, leading to friction between Washington and New Delhi.
