Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appointed General Aamer Raza as the Commander of the National Strategic Command. The appointment places the senior military officer at the helm of Pakistan’s strategic command structure.
Gen Raza was previously serving as the Chief of the General Staff (CGS) of the Pakistan Army, a key position responsible for overseeing military operations and intelligence coordination.
The appointment is part of the military’s senior leadership changes and comes as Pakistan continues to focus on strengthening its strategic capabilities and national security framework.
Officials expect Gen Raza’s extensive operational and command experience to support the country’s strategic planning and defence preparedness in his new role.
