Pakistan’s selectors are considering excluding wicket‑keeper Mohammad Rizwan from the three‑match ODI series against Australia, sources say, with coach Mike Hesson and the selection committee finalising squad changes ahead of the tour. Reports suggest Rizwan’s place is under review as part of a broader squad revamp following mixed white‑ball results.

Rizwan has played over 100 ODIs, scoring nearly 3,000 runs with four centuries and 19 half‑centuries, and is one of Pakistan’s most experienced limited‑overs players. His continued inclusion is being debated amid a push to balance experience with fresh talent.

With openers Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub ruled out of the series due to injury, Pakistan may rely on new combinations, including the return of veteran Babar Azam and uncapped players.

Possible alternatives to Rizwan as wicket‑keeper include Usman Khan or Mirza Saad Baig joining Ghazi Ghouri, who debuted as a batsman in Pakistan’s recent Bangladesh series.

The Australia tour is set to begin on May 30, with the first ODI in Rawalpindi followed by matches in Lahore, and selectors are expected to announce the final squad soon.
