President Asif Ali Zardari has extended warm felicitations to Chinese President Xi Jinping and the people of China on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan.

In his message on Thursday, the President said Pakistan-China relations stand as a remarkable example of enduring friendship and strategic cooperation that has strengthened over decades.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed heartfelt congratulations to the peoples of both countries on the historic milestone, saying Pakistan deeply values its longstanding ties with China.
He said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations on 21 May 1951, the relationship has evolved into an All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership based on mutual trust, sovereign equality, and shared aspirations for peace and development.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan highly appreciates China’s continued support in multiple sectors, adding that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has played a key role in infrastructure development, energy security, industrial cooperation, and regional connectivity.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the high-quality development of CPEC in its next phase, focusing on industrialisation, agriculture, information technology, science and technology, green development, and people-centred cooperation.
Shehbaz Sharif further said cooperation between the two countries is expanding into new areas including the digital economy, innovation, space technology, education, and cultural exchange, calling the partnership a model of regional stability and shared prosperity.
He also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the One-China policy and support for China on issues of its core interests, while praising President Xi Jinping’s leadership and China’s achievements in development, poverty alleviation, and technological progress.
Meanwhile, the State Bank of Pakistan announced the issuance of a commemorative Rs75 coin to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. The coin will be available to the public from Monday.
