Islamabad: Pakistan has formally lodged a demarche with the Afghan authorities over the Bannu attack, warning of a decisive response if such incidents continue, officials said.

According to diplomatic sources, the protest was conveyed to the Afghan side following the attack in Bannu, which Pakistan has linked to militant activity originating across the border.
Officials said the demarche conveyed Pakistan’s serious concerns over the security situation and urged Afghan authorities to take immediate and effective action against elements involved in cross-border violence.
Islamabad also warned that continued attacks could prompt a stronger response, stressing the need for effective cooperation to prevent further escalation.
