Officer and civilian killed in targeted attack as investigation launched into incident.

The victims of a deadly shooting in Montreal’s Côte-des-Neiges borough have been identified after a gunman opened fire on Monday, June 22. The incident left one police officer and one civilian dead.
The officer was identified as Mohaed Lamine Benredouane, who joined the Montreal Police Department in 2021 and died during the operation.
The civilian victim was identified as Michael Mizrahi. Authorities have not released details about the suspect, who was killed during the police response.
The shooting prompted a large police operation and temporary lockdown in the area as investigators from the Bureau des enquêtes indépendantes continue to examine the circumstances of the attack.
