Pakistan wrapped up the West Indies first innings for 311 on Day 2 of the opening Test at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy. Fast bowler Mohammad Ali led the attack with outstanding figures of 4-50, while Mohammad Abbas claimed three wickets.
West Indies recovered after an early collapse through determined knocks from Kavem Hodge and Shai Hope. Hodge scored a patient 84, while Hope anchored the innings with a composed 92 before falling just short of a deserved century.
Pakistan kept the pressure on throughout the innings with disciplined bowling. Khurram Shahzad picked up two wickets, and Aamer Jamal added one as the visitors prevented any lower-order resistance from changing the game’s momentum.
