Pakistan’s benchmark KSE-100 Index plunged by more than 1,250 points as renewed tensions between the United States and Iran triggered broad-based selling across the stock market.

Investor sentiment weakened as concerns over the escalating conflict raised fears of higher oil prices, regional instability and increased pressure on global financial markets.

The sharp decline was led by losses in automobile, cement, commercial banking, oil exploration and power generation stocks, with selling spreading across multiple sectors during the trading session.

Analysts said the latest geopolitical developments prompted investors to adopt a cautious stance, while market participants continue to monitor regional tensions for their potential impact on Pakistan’s economy and financial markets.
