Ishaq Dar has warned that India’s planned expansion of Indus reservoir infrastructure could deepen “hydro-hegemony” concerns.
In a keynote address, he said water must never be treated as a tool of coercion. He stressed the need for fair and stable water-sharing practices.
Dar raised concerns about upstream developments on the Indus system. He called for dialogue and adherence to existing water agreements.
The remarks highlight ongoing tensions over transboundary water management in South Asia.
