Iran said Qeshm Island was heavily hit by US missile strikes during the latest operation. The attacks followed a series of American strikes on dozens of military sites across Iran.
Kuwait said three border posts and an offshore oil platform were attacked during the exchange. Authorities are assessing the damage and monitoring the security situation.
The US Central Command said it had completed strikes on dozens of Iranian targets. Washington described the operation as a response to ongoing threats against US forces in the region.
Tehran said the latest US attacks had “rendered futile” recent diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions. The renewed violence has raised fears of a broader regional confrontation.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for an immediate end to the fighting and urged all sides to return to diplomacy. International leaders continue to appeal for restraint to prevent further escalation.
